KAEF has reached a retransmission agreement with Suddenlink (Eureka) and Charter (Crescent City).
The agreements reached allow these service providers the clearance to retransmit our local HD signal to their subscribers.
We are in the process of upgrading our program delivery system to improve the signal quality and add HD capabilities to our over the air transmission. All of our translators will remain analog standard definition.
If you are a subscriber to Suddenlink or Charter carriers, please check for updates to their systems as our HD network programming becomes available. We estimate that we will have ABC network HD capabilities by the Fall of 2009.

The K20CN Rio Dell translator is currently broadcasting the KAEF digital signal.

The K25CI translator at Klamath is slated to cease operation sometime in 2009/2010 as that site owner is dissolving operations there.

The K36BT translator for those who live in the Blue Lake area, has been converted to analog broadcast of the KAEF digital signal. This translator will continue to broadcast an over the air analog signal after February 18, 2009 on channel 36.

For the K45DS translator at Freshwater, we plan on converting to analog broadcast of the KAEF digital signal in the near future.

The K51EG translator for those who live in the Loleta and Humboldt Hill area of south Eureka, has also been converted to analog broadcast of KAEF digital signal. This translator will continue to broadcast an over the air analog signal after February 18, 2009 on channel 51.
