UPDATED: Earthquake Off Eureka Coast Thu, 02/04/2010 - 13:35

1:29 PM: The earthquake that struck off the coast of Eureka on Thursday has not caused any problems for the town. That's according to police and fire officials in Eureka.

Police say there have been no reports of any damage or injuries in the area. The fire chief says he felt a jolt, but it didn't last long. There are also reports the quake could be an aftershock from the earthquake that struck off the coast in January.

The United State Geological Survey says there is no threat of a tsunami.

2/4/10 - 12:44 PM: The United States Geological Survey is reporting a 6.0 magnitude earthquake 47 miles off the coast of Eureka. The quake was felt throughout the Northstate.

We talked to Mount Shasta Police, and they say that they have not heard of anything that was damaged. They do say they got quite a jolt, but no reports of damage or injuries yet.
